The year is 1961 and Lydia Martin had a whole plan worked out. She was going to study hard, do better than everyone else in school, and go to Oxford college to start a better life for herself. What she hadn’t planned on was meeting the handsome, wealthy Peter Hale, a man twice her age. He falls for her immediately and whisks her away in attempt to expose her to his culturally rich world - to “take her places and show her things.” She takes to it right away, and gets along brilliantly with Peter’s nephew and business partner, Derek, and Derek’s partner Stiles. As her relationship with Peter grows more serious, Oxford becomes less and less important, but there is still so much that he isn’t telling her.

This harmless animal turned into a perfectly vicious killer; and it all started with that one bite.
